The Whys, Whats, and Hows of Meditation [2.5 hrs]
Meditation is the exploration of our inner world where the treasures of contentment, wisdom, and happiness await us. This exploration happens through stillness of body, ease of breath, and focus of mind and evolves us into fuller human beings who walk this earth with one foot on the ground and one in the Divine.
We will look at the hows, whys, and whats of this process and how to explore the vastness of our inner world as well as begin to learn the language of silence. For those wishing to begin, maintain, or deepen a practice. Lecture interspersed with meditation.
Your Mind on Meditation [2.5 hrs]
How do I know if I am meditating or not? Once my body is still, my breath is deep in the belly, my eyes are closed, my mind is focused….now what? Am I meditating or just wasting my time?
Meditation can be likened to the hero’s journey, an unknown journey wrought with distractions, delight, and dragons that can take us off course from the treasure we are seeking. Knowing what to expect as we engage in the meditation process is critical.
In this workshop we will compare the internal journey of meditation to the hero’s journey of mythology to help us understand the process of meditation and what is happening to the mind as we attend to holding our meditation space.
